WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CREATING AN AFFIRM ACCOUNT?
- You must: be 18 years or older.
- Have a valid U.S. mailing address. (this includes APO/FPO/DPO addresses but excludes overseas territories).
- Have a valid U.S. mobile number that can receive SMS texts. (the phone number must be registered in your name, and Affirm cannot accept VOIP numbers at this time.)
- Have a valid email address.
- Provide your full name, birthday, and last four digits of your Social Security Number to help Affirm protect and verify your identity.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR AFFIRM? -- Just choose Affirm at checkout and follow a few simple steps for approval.
HOW DO I USE AFFIRM? -- Affirm offers clear, simple financing for your online purchases in just a few clicks: Fill your cart and select the Affirm payment option on the merchant's checkout page. Enter a few basic pieces of information to identify yourself. We’ll instantly notify you whether you are approved for a loan. Review your payment plan details and click confirm to finalize the loan. Once you’re done, your purchase will be on its way. That's it! Just remember to pay your bills before their due dates at www.affirm.com/pay.
ARE THERE ANY INTEREST OR FEES ASSOCIATED WITH AFFIRM LOANS? --Affirm loans vary between 10% and 30% APR simple interest. The corresponding finance charge is the only fee associated with an Affirm loan - we don’t charge late fees, service fees, prepayment fees, or any other hidden fees. We strive always to be more transparent and fair than any other form of financing.
WHY WAS I PROMPTED FOR A DOWN PAYMENT? We aren't always able to approve financing for the full amount of a purchase. When this happens, we provide a debit card down payment option so that you may still complete your purchase right away. Regrettably, we are unable to change the down payment amount at this time.
WHY WAS I PROMPTED FOR A CHECKING ACCOUNT? Affirm sometimes needs more information about your financial situation to evaluate your loan application. We may ask you to link your online checking account, which helps us determine your ability to repay a loan. If you are prompted to link your checking account and would like to continue with the application process, you may link your account by providing the login information for your online bank account. Affirm does not store your online login credentials - we simply pass them on via a secure service to link your checking account. Also, linking your checking account only allows us to view deposits into and payments from your checking account. It DOES NOT authorize Affirm to debit your account without first obtaining your consent.
WHY IS MY LOAN IN A PENDING STATE? When you confirm a loan with Affirm, you authorize the merchant to request disbursement from Cross River Bank in the amount of the loan. This is sometimes called "capturing" payment. Some merchants won’t capture payment until they are ready to ship your item(s). In these situations, your purchase will remain pending until the merchant charges your Affirm account. You will receive a confirmation email and text message from us once processing is complete. The charge will also appear as an "Upcoming Bill" on your Affirm account upon completion.
